“I’ve been drawing, literally, for as long as I can remember, around age 3 when I could start grasping crayons. Like any toddler, it started with drawing on things I wasn’t supposed to, like on the walls or under tables. From there, I started drawing things around me. I remember specifically as I got a bit older, maybe around age 5, when I could start watching movies and appreciating them. I would pause my favorite animated films and spend hours drawing my favorite characters and scenes. They were always animals; the lions and tigers were my favorite. When I was finished drawing something, I would run to my family members to show them what I created. Every single time, even though to them it probably looked like a scribbled mess, their faces would light up and tell me how incredible my drawings were. They would tell me that my art was special, and that someday, I could use my art to change the world.
They were right.”
